At Night

At Night by Jonathan Bean
2008 Charlotte Zolotow Honor Book

At Night is another one of my favorites. A young girl can’t sleep so she goes to sleep on the rooftop, but what she doesn’t know is that her mother is there to watch over her while she is sleeping. The way the author describes her sleeplessness is nice because it brings drama to the story. I didn’t know where the story was going until the end. Illustration were appropriate to text.
